Chopin

The creative process of this series involves immersing myself in the world of Frédéric Chopin's music, translating its melodies into deeply personal visual expressions. I allow myself to be fully enveloped by the profound sensations the music stirs within me.

Using acrylic ink on wet paper, I strive to maximize the spontaneity of movement, letting the brush draw freely without deliberate guidance from what I see. By keeping my eyes closed, I ensure that my movements are guided solely by what I hear, allowing the music to flow through me and direct my brushwork.

Often, I concentrate on specific passages rather than the entire piece, aiming to distill the essence of those moments into clear and resonant visuals. Additionally, I play the same opera repeatedly while painting, layering my expressions over previous touches. This method enables me to capture the evolving nuances and deeper resonances of the music, reflecting how my emotional response develops and shifts with each encounter.

The three newly added pieces above, created in the past year, were also inspired by the flow of the music but with a slightly different approach. While still embracing the instinctive element, I focused more on visualizing the atmosphere of the sound and harmonizing the layers for a balanced, cohesive composition.
